Follow Your Heart

Hi everyone
Sharmaine here with another page from my art journal.

IMG_3916

The X-Press It Wide Glue Marker was very handy for adding some strips of tissue paper to my pages.

IMG_3918

I just tore strips of Hazel & Ruby tissue paper and stuck them down as my foundation.

IMG_3921

I then covered the paper with some yellow paint

IMG_3924

and some thin strips of Hazel & Ruby washi tape.

IMG_3929

Next I used some Chromacryl texture paste with a stencil.

IMG_3932

Before stamping with a FabScraps chipboard (as I did on this page)

IMG_3933

The image didn’t stamp completely but I worked with that.
I love the sneaky bits of white and I added some more paint to create a skirt.
I added some sequins to the skirt, using the X-Press It Glue Marker.

IMG_3934

I also used the X-Press It Glue Pen to add some spots of glue to a FabScraps butterfly, before adding some glitter.

The results are texture

and sparkle.

Journal To The Stars And Back

Hi there, Sharmaine here! Guess what?!  It’s time for a blog hop! Together our team of designers have created some really fun projects using some of our favourite products and the best part is that you have OVER TEN opportunities to win!

When asked what my favourite X-Press It product is I always find it hard to pick.
So I thought I would do a post using some of my favourites.
The first is the Blending Journal.
IMG_3224
I love the sturdy pages and the ring bound spine means I can fill it up with lots of layers and it has loads of give.
For this page I layered up some strips of FabScraps pattern paper and gesso.
I then stamped and covered the lot with some green Atelier Free Flow Acrylic paint (also from X-Press It).
IMG_3225
I then added some stars with a stencil and some gesso, which I then covered with some glitter.
IMG_3229
Next I used a FabScraps chipboard piece as a stamp.
This is a simple task of covering the chipboard with paint
IMG_3228
and then stamping.
IMG_3230
Another fabulous X-Press It product is the Clear Gel Glue.
I used it to adhere some Hazel & Ruby sequins to my page.
IMG_3231
And lastly my all time favourite X-Press It product, double sided tape.
Ever since I started scrapbooking, back in 2005, the X-Press It double sided tape has been my trusty friend.

I now use the 3mm for all my journal strips and that’s what I did here.

Shabby Gate Album

Hi X-Press It fans.
Sharmaine here and today I’m sharing a step by step on how I created a frame using the FabScraps Shabby Gate Album.

IMG_0300

Products used:
FabScraps Shabby Gate album
Fabscraps "Shabbylicious" papers
FabScraps chipboard
Fabscraps filigree
Chromacryl paints
Lindy’s Stamp Gang Embossing Powder
X-Press It Double sided tape
X-Press It Clear Gel Glue

The very first thing I did was pulled out the back of the album and covered it with glue, using the X-Press It Clear Gel Glue. The quickest way, i’ve found, to do this is spreading it with a palette knife.

IMG_0303

Next I placed the glue side down onto some pattern paper.

IMG_0304

Using an emery board I removed the excess paper from the sides.

IMG_0306

I repeated this process for two of the page inserts and using my finger I then added some paint around the edges.

IMG_0313

I also added a coverage of paint to the gates

IMG_0315

Before stamping over them with a text stamp and then embossed this with some Silver Moon Sapphire Embossing Powder.

IMG_0316

I then added some touches of blue ink

IMG_0318

Before adhering the gates to the page inserts.

IMG_0319

Next I repeated the stamp/emboss process to a piece of FabScraps chipboard

IMG_0320

And a metal butterfly.

IMG_0323

I added some more pattern paper (also distressed and inked) to the back

IMG_0322

And then put the frame together, tying it up with some ribbon.

IMG_0324

I used a post card instead of a photo.

IMG_0329

Really like the subtle texture the embossing creates.

IMG_0331

I also left enough room so you could add either a landscape or a portrait 4x6 photo.

IMG_0333

I didn’t fully glue the “Together” down so that a new photo could easily be tucked in behind.

IMG_0332

Think this would make a great wedding gift,

IMG_0334

Or even for Christmas.

IMG_0335

Hope you are feeling inspired to create.
Happy Christmas to you all and I wish you all the very best for the New Year.
Happy creating

Shabbylicious Embossing

Hi X-Press It Fans.
Sharmaine here sharing a layout I made using several products from X-Press It.

Lindy’s Stamp Gang Embossing Powder
X-Press It Double sided tape
Fabscraps "Shabbylicious" papers
Fabscraps button and pearls
Chromacryl paints
Fabscraps filigree
Fabscraps "Shabbylicious" stickers

I started by creating my background paper, using cardstock and some watered down paint.

I then used some of the pattern paper to back my photo and to type up my journaling.

The next step was to emboss the metal filigree.

I covered the metal with paint

and coated each using both “Silver Moon Sapphire”

and “Adobe Fire” embossing powder.

I didn’t completely cover all the metal, I left little bits of paint showing through,

and heated the powder.

I then cut each filigree in half.

I then used the blue paint, diluted with water,

and coated a paper doily.

Which I also cut in half.

IMG_9513

I then cut out a bird, from one of the pattern papers in the “Shabbylicious” range, and added it to my page.

IMG_9514

I also added a “Shabbylicious” sticker

IMG_9515

I added some Fabscraps pearls and buttons

IMG_9516

to complete my page.

Love that supplies, like paint and embossing powder, give you the power to alter.
I hope this has inspired you to look at the embellishments you have and see if you can alter them with some paint or embossing powder.
Have a wonderful week.
