Application 1: Glitter
Run a glue marker at the edge of card and cover with glitter to add a sparkling border.
Write words with a glue marker and cover with glitter to bring the word to life.
A great way to add your own handwriting to your projects.

Application 2: Fabric and Ribbons
Secure the top of a piece of fine lace with a line of Glue Marker across the front of a card.
Follow the scallop of the lace with a Glue Marker for precision finishing on fabric elements.

Application 3: Rhinestones
Secure rhinestones that come without a sticky back anywhere on your projects with a dot of Glue Marker.
Making lines of rhinestones or scrolls of different sized gems is easily achieved with the same application of Glue Marker.

Application 4: Fine Paper
Cover a surface with Glue Marker and scrunch tissue paper across the front, the thin layer of glue is perfect for gentle application of fine papers and such.  In this sample I have applied the ink after securing the paper, so that the crushed paper picks up the ink.
You can also use the Glue Marker around the edge of a piece of card and lay the tissue paper down flat.

Application 5:  String
Scroll a line of Glue Marker across your project to add fine twine details.
Use free form scrolls, or add strings to balloons and such.  The Glue Marker's bond is strong, just hold in place for 20 seconds or so and the string will be secure enough to hold and dry in place.

Glue Markers are truly versatile and a must for your creative tool kit, I recommend one standard Glue Marker and one Wide Glue Marker to provide the versatility needed to achieve fine work and coverage for your projects.

Pop & Shine with X-Press It Tapes and Glue Markers

It's time to use your basics to glam up simple stamped images for a card… you can have every fancy cutting tool known to man but a simple swipe of glue to hold glitter, and varied layers of tape to set different heights across your card front should never be underestimated!

All you need to start this simple project is X-Press It double sided adhesive tape and foam tape, in any width but I used 6mm, plus a trusty X-Press It Glue Marker, or Markers in my case… Importantly, select one part of your main stamped image and double stamp it, so that you can stack it up paper tole style… see below I stamped and cut out a section of the skirt on the pink dress… and then a separate banner and flower were also stamped and fussy cut:

 With the images as a starting point I cut a card base so that it had a 6mm overhang and run the Wide Glue Marker around the outside edge so that I could add a glitter detail to the outside edge of the card:

Once the base is all glittered up it is time to add tape to the different stamped elements, mixing up flat double sided tape with foam tape, and doubled up foam tape provides for different heights across the card.  If you look closely below you can see: single foam tape on the square stamped image and dress, doubled up foam tape on the flower elements and simple double sided tape on the banner:

When you place the skirt on top of the main image, and then the main image to the card front you get a nice lift for both of these, the largest elements of the card front:

Mix up the levels with a banner that is set flat against the base image, and then extra POP on the flower thanks to the doubled up foam tape:

Continue the sprinkling of shine by adding more glitter to the highest point in your card, the flower element:

A few extra sprinkles go a long way to bringing all the shine together… the dimension between the glittered edge on the card base and main image provide for maximum light to catch this little detail too:

So the next time you need a big POP on your projects, bring out the simple things in your stash, foam tape is a miracle worker for adding different levels of POP and Glue Markers the perfect base for added SHINE:

Sharmaine here with another page from my art journal.

The X-Press It Wide Glue Marker was very handy for adding some strips of tissue paper to my pages.

I just tore strips of Hazel & Ruby tissue paper and stuck them down as my foundation.

I then covered the paper with some yellow paint

and some thin strips of Hazel & Ruby washi tape.

Next I used some Chromacryl texture paste with a stencil.

Before stamping with a FabScraps chipboard (as I did on this page)

The image didn’t stamp completely but I worked with that.
I love the sneaky bits of white and I added some more paint to create a skirt.
I added some sequins to the skirt, using the X-Press It Glue Marker.

I also used the X-Press It Glue Pen to add some spots of glue to a FabScraps butterfly, before adding some glitter.

The results are texture

and sparkle.

Personalised Gift Bags featuring X-Press IT Double Sided Sheets

Hi Anne here today to share with you a really simple way of personalising gift bags, to give them that little something extra in this gift giving season.

I have found some simple Kraft gift bags, and have decorated them.  Here is how.

Taking your X-Press IT Double Sided Sheets, remove one side and adhere to your Patterned Paper.  This stuff is totally FABULOUS as it is like a GIANT piece of double sided tape.  It made my bag decorating process super easy.

I have used a 2" and 1" circle punch and easily punched out some quick circles.

Remove the other side of the doubled sided sheet, and adhere in place on the bag.

Using my X-Press it Thick Glue Pen, I drew some bows on the top of the circles.  Then sprinkled glitter onto the glue.

 There are two ways you can add the string.  The quick method, using a brown pen....

But as you know, I can't go past a good bit of needle work (which I have done on my other sample).

Vintage Glam TripleTac Style

Welcome to another X-Press It Tutorial, this week we are focusing on the use of TripleTac to transfer images to canvas.  Here is what I started with for the photo transfer element of this piece:

I used a fashion photo for my canvas by the very vintage-ly talented karen radkai, it spoke glamour to me, and I knew the muted tones would work well once transferred, and mesh nicely with a good splash of glitter.

You can print off any photo that you have and use the image transfer technique to achieve the same look.  There is a little video on the image transfer technique at this link, and the instructions are also provided on the side of the packaging on each tub of X-Press It TripleTac Glue.

The first step in the image transfer technique is to apply X-Press It TripleTac Glue to the image, apply a good coverage of TripleTac Glue, all the way to the edges of the image, and then simply press the image, face side down, onto the canvas.  Make sure the glue and image makes good contact with the canvas by running your hands across the top of the covered canvas and pressing firmly as you go.

The next step involves an overnight wait, or 3 hours in a warm environment... or you can do what I do and dry it with a heat gun.  The aim is to ensure that all the moisture leaves the glue.  Once you are confident that the glue has dried it is time to reveal the image...  This is simply achieved by taking the same paint brush, but dipped in water, and wetting sections of the covered canvas, then using your fingers to rub the paper backing away from the image.  It is best to work in small areas, re-wetting the areas as you move along, and slowly removing the backing paper.

Once you have revealed your image, which will be in reverse to what you printed, leave to dry for a while, once dry you will be able to determine if you have removed all, or enough of the backing paper. The amount of backing paper you remove is totally up to you, the more you leave on the more shabby chic your end result will be.

I chose this image with the intent of gifting a little "It's OK to be Glamorous" Canvas to a fashionista friend, and also because it had some specific details that would take extra bits of glam.  I wanted to feature the necklace and chose some silver beads from very deep in my crafting stash, applying a pool of TripleTac Glue directly atop the outline of the necklace on the image, then it was as simple as pooling the beads on top, waiting a few moments for them to settle and then tipping the canvas upside down to remove the excess.  TripleTac is super strong, so the beads will stay in place forever more!

Then for a little bit of different texture I took two different sizes in the Glue Marker and Glue Pen to the front of the dress, adding a thicker line across the top, and dots of glue on the frills on the front of the dress, spilling glitter glass in this section to adhere to the two different sizes of glue...

A quick quote printed and cut up to add a touch of sentiment and the elements of this were finished... you will note that I have painted the sides grey first, and then covered with silver paint, extending some of the paint to the front of the canvas to continue the shabby feel.

You can leave the canvas as is, in this case I wanted a gloss finish, so have gone back over the entire surface with TripleTac Glue, which now serves the purpose of a sealer.  This leaves a glossier finish, and also allows some of the colour from the original image to deepen again.

You could use your own photos, magazine images or scrapbook paper to transfer onto such canvases, the results are endless!
