Double sided tape, a competition and a DT call...

Hi everyone, it's Kim here and welcome to the new X-press It blog!
I am sooo excited to be working with the fabulous X-Press It  products X-Press Graph-X is one of Australia's leading wholesale manufacturers, importers and distributers of fine and graphic art materials and framing products.
A little about me...I am a SAHM to two gorgeous boys who are definitely the inspiration for my scrapbooking. I have been scrapping for about 10 years now and am honoured to be on several international manufacturers DTs. Just recently I was named one of the 10 Masters for the 2012 Scrapbooking Memories Masters competition. If you would like to see more of my work come visit my blog here

Our first featured product on the blog is DOUBLE SIDED TAPE
X-Press It double sided tape is an essential when I am scrapping for several reasons. It is very very high quality , it sticks effectively and remains so,  unlike other double sided tape. It comes in a variety of widths which I will share with you below some tips and tricks I have learnt over the years. It is very easy to use, just unwind the amount you use and tear off, no need to waste time with scissors.

Here is how I usually use the X-Press It  double sided tape. Cut your pattern paper to size.

Turn your pattern paper over and place the double sided tape onto the edges of your pattern paper, here I have used the 6 mm size.

Now here is the part that really helps when placing your pattern paper down and ensuring it is in the correct place on your page. Pull the backing of the tape off only half way along the strip of tape and fold out as shown.

Turn your pattern paper over and place it where you want, now if you place it in the wrong spot, because you have only lifted the backing off the tape half way it is very easy to pull up and try again.

Once you are happy with your placement pull the remaining backing of the double sided tape off and press your pattern paper down to adhere.

When it comes to attaching thinner pieces of cardstock I always reach for the 3mm double side tape, this allows perfect adhesion without parts of the tape being seen.

When ever you are attaching ribbon or strips of paper, it is important to place the double sided tape onto the base layout , not the strip or ribbon. You will find if you do place it on the strip or ribbon they will curl and buckle and not give a smooth finished look once you have adhered it to your page.

I always type up my journalling last , here in this photo I am using a metal ruler to measure how wide my journalling strip needs to be to fit nicely on my page.

And  my finished  layout

I hope I have given you some tips and tricks for using the X-press It double side tape. NOW would YOU like to win some X-Press It products ? Heres how

  5. Here is my card for the challenge - it is the second one on the page. I used 6mm & 12mm tape as well as some X-Press It clear gel to hold my rosette & holly in place.

Thanks for the challenge - it was so hard to decide which one to submit as, like Edna, I use your products in just about every card I create!
