Hi there, Sharmaine here! Guess what?! It’s time for a blog hop! Together our team of designers have created some really fun projects using some of our favourite products and the best part is that you have OVER TEN opportunities to win!
When asked what my favourite X-Press It product is I always find it hard to pick.
So I thought I would do a post using some of my favourites.
The first is the Blending Journal.
The first is the Blending Journal.
I love the sturdy pages and the ring bound spine means I can fill it up with lots of layers and it has loads of give.
For this page I layered up some strips of FabScraps pattern paper and gesso.
I then stamped and covered the lot with some green Atelier Free Flow Acrylic paint (also from X-Press It).

I then added some stars with a stencil and some gesso, which I then covered with some glitter.
Next I used a FabScraps chipboard piece as a stamp.
This is a simple task of covering the chipboard with paint

Another fabulous X-Press It product is the Clear Gel Glue.
I used it to adhere some Hazel & Ruby sequins to my page.

And lastly my all time favourite X-Press It product, double sided tape.
Ever since I started scrapbooking, back in 2005, the X-Press It double sided tape has been my trusty friend.

I now use the 3mm for all my journal strips and that’s what I did here.

ReplyDeleteI get so inspired by everything hehe, I think my mind is constantly looking for inspiration and since I discovered Copics years ago, I am always looking at people's hair and clothing for shading/colouring ideas. I love challenge blogs and looking at the DT creations and challenge winners' cards for creative new ideas. I love card magazines, all my craft goodies give me ideas too. Told you I was inspired by everything hehe. OMGosh to the amazing prizes that can be won, I can never have too many copics!! XOX Lucy

ReplyDeleteGreat inspiration in this project right here!! Love the step by step! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI get inspired by photos on Instagram, colours in nature, books and blogs. So much creativity that sparks my own creativity.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great mixed media piece! I adore my xpress it blender journal too. I definitely get inspired by seeing other people's work :)
ReplyDeleteGORGEOUS journal pages - LOVE the colours & textures!!! THIS is the sort of thing that INSPIRES me, especially when it includes a fabulous tutorial like this one!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm also inspired by the colours, patterns, shapes and textures of nature.
I have several blogs that I visit each day for inspiration and techniques.
A crafty challenge is always good to push my limits too!!!
AND I find it exciting to experiment with different products and techniques too, especially when magic happens before my eyes!!!
THANK YOU for the chance to win some CRAFTY AWESOMENESS :)
Actually x-press it card inspires me!!! I remember when I started out with copics feeling so depressed and dejected because I couldn't make my colouring look good. Then I tried x-press it and LOVED the way my colouring turned out.
ReplyDeleteoooohhhh love this, totally rocking colours & now looking at my naked chipboard in a new light, you are my inspiration that is for sure ! WOW
ReplyDeletemy greatest inspiration comes from sorting through stashes of lace and papers and fabrics and ribbons and bits and pieces!! great fun!! and pinterst!! and shopping!!
ReplyDeleteI'm inspired by seeing the creative process of others.
ReplyDeleteGreat project thanks for the inspiration just love blog hopping ...
ReplyDeleteWow, love the journal page, especially those little sequins! I get inspiration from a lot of different places including nature, other people's wonderful creations and browsing pinterest or even getting some old craft items I haven't used in a while and just playing :-) Thanks so much for the blog hop.
ReplyDeleteWell, I'm pressed. I've always wanted to develop that style but struggle. I'll certainly give it a try now!
ReplyDeleteRight now I am being heavily influenced by Mary Doodles and Emily Wayne Illustration. I am trained as a graphic designer but all I want to do now is draw pictures. I am adding to my marker set bit by bit but OMG I would SOOOOOO give all these the best home ever! I've started a new Facebook page Doodeloly www.facebook.com/doodeloly so all my friends and family can keep up with my Daily Doodle project. I am doing at least one doodle a day Practice makes perfect right?
I'm inspired by nature. It's very refreshing to be outdoors and just enjoy those simple things in life.
ReplyDeleteI get inspired by seeing other people's gorgeous creations :)
ReplyDeleteI love looking at great card designers on you tube and card magazines. Now that i have entered blog land and design teams, all the other very talented crafters out there constantly inspire me to do better every time I create a card.
ReplyDeleteI love watching Youtube videos featuring Copic markers being used to colour in The Greeting Farm's characters and Disney's Frozen's characters Anya and Elsa. Lately, I've been sharing these with my 6 year old daughter who loves them. So much so that she's now "blending" her colouring just like in the videos! She inspires me to not limit my creativity to a certain palette but rather to use all the colours to give my creativity life!
ReplyDelete'She tasted the Stars...' is an amazing layout Sharmaine, I adore how the stars themselves are very loose in design. I've used the x-press it blending paper for years but I can now see that I'm going to have to look into adding some of the glues to my 'Crafting List of - Must Have'.
ReplyDeleteIt's projects like the one above that inspire me, especially when they include products that I've not used before.
Thanks for a great hop. =)
I'm inspired by great colour combinations - which I find all around me; in nature, on the internet, other people's craft, and more recently in museums while travelling overseas. I was so inspired by colour and pattern, particularly in the Victoria and Albert Museum in London; I came home with lots of ideas to create!
ReplyDeleteSharmaine...you inspire me!...and colours, shapes, layering, stencils, texture, poetry. My hardest problem is to choose and stay focussed.
